Well Dicer the cost of the new I7 procs have made Intel beyond my meger reach ($) so the AMD phenom II's are looking pretty attractive right now. My needs don't require a quad core, as you well know for gaming a quad core is just a bunch of over kill as 1/2 the cores will just sit and do nothing. That being said the AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition runs at a very nice speed (3.10GHz) and has the unlocked multiplier. For the $ spent, it gives (imho) really good value. In the future, with this mobo, I'll be able to upgrade every piece of hardware at least once and still be makin sick frame rates. I'm still a ATI hater though LOL

im with you on the amd chips ,killer performance for the cost, i just bought a ati 4870 for my kids computer for a 150 bucks !!!! got 2 free games with it to and free shipping , nvidia chips are faster for hard drive data transfer , but for graphics ill stick with ati for now , they just work great for the money, good to see guys using the board again

im betting that you like windows 7 , i have it on my other HD , it plays nas03 like a dream and all the other games i have on it , now i have the amd quad core black box 3 gig , i can enable all 4 cores on any game ,its easy to do, i might build my youngest son a new machine using that amd dual core chip , but i want a board that has nvidia chips on it for data transfer , it is a smoking combo , if you can ,try a 4870 or 4890 with the latest drivers, ill bet you will be glad you did
