Just to update those who are interested...
Our little golf group has switched over to the
2008 version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour game.
We still have that great location for adding courses
to this newer version, so go here and check it out.
www.coursedownloads.com
You must first register as a member (it's free) and just
follow the simple steps below to install your new courses
to your 08 version of the game.
Log on to the site and from the home page, find in the menu
on the left "2008 - how to install courses" and click on it.
About halfway down this page is the link to install
"TW Caddie 08 v1.5" for Vista & XP or
"TW Caddie 08 x64" for the 64 bit Operating Systems.
Once you have this program installed with a shortcut on your
desktop, the rest is much easier than in the past.
Go back to the menu on the left & click on "Tiger Woods 2008"
This will take you to the course downloads page.
Choose the blue tab at the top marked "Most Downloads".
You are after the top five courses on this list, but let me
walk you through the first one...
Click on the "Augusta National" by Ken McHale.
About halfway down that page will be a link for DL.
At this page, find the file list for this course & make sure
all boxes for all files are checked (they should be already)
and then click on "create my zip file"
You will then look for a big green arrow on the next page.
Before clicking on the download link, I suggest that you
create a folder in "my documents" and create folders for
each course BEFORE you save it. This is very important,
as the files you download will ALL be name "24440.zip"
After saving all five courses, log off coursedownloads.com
and go to your desktop. Find your icon for the Caddie utility
and start the program.
When the Caddie window opens, click on "install" in the upper
righthand corner. Point the program to your courses folder
and the first zip file for Augusta National (24440.zip) and
let 'er rip!
While installing, the program will throw a few windows at you,
but just keep hitting your enter key to answer YES, until it's finished.
You can use the Caddie program to install all five courses back
to back or just do one and go play for a bit. You will notice
that once the courses are installed, they will appear in the Caddie
program lists.
I have not had any trouble with installation on my XP Pro
32bit OS, but cannot speak for the 64bit.
The courses are at the top of the list for a reason, as they
are pleasing to the eye as well as more challenging to play!
Enjoy... and we'll see you on Tuesdays
