My intention with this board is to have a place to share knowledge of the keyboard controls, the in-game settings for steering profiles and discoveries we make about things like garage settings and their effects on the way certain Mods handle. If you come looking for answers to a problem or you wish to share a cool discovery you've made, post it here and help others enjoy this game. See ya on the track!

The "engine brake map" setting seems to control what Jerry9k calls "side bite". (thanks for your help on this J)
When reaching the end of the straightaway, most drivers would lift the accelerator to set the car into the turn.
Under normal real world conditions, the slowing of the engine (and thus the rear wheels) would cause a braking effect which makes the car loose until you get back on the throttle. We are not talking about the brakes here. Just the effects of the rear tires when under power or not.
The engine brake map setting will increase this effect when you apply a higher number in the garage. So this setting would be useful when your car prematurely dives to the inside of the track upon corner entry, but keep in mind, it will work only when your decelerating a the end of a straight and setting up for a turn.
Jerry and I discovered that the sprint car will slide sideways through the entrance of the turns in a controlled manner (without making the rear-end loose) but slows your forward momentum a bunch.
Obviously a good choice for longer dirt ovals with higher speeds on the straights and tight turns, i.e. paper clip tracks.
